Ever since I was a student of Electronics and Instrumentation at Universitas Gadjah Mada, I’ve always been curious:

What does learning and innovation feel like beyond the borders of my country?

That curiosity led me to dream of studying abroad not just for the sake of a degree, but to grow, explore, and connect with the world.

But the road hasn’t always been easy. I applied for the IISMA 2022 program and didn’t make it. I prepared for the Fulbright and LPDP scholarships, only to miss the deadlines because my graduation documents hadn’t been issued in time. It was frustrating, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. But I didn’t give up.

That dream felt a little closer when I got accepted into a Summer Global Experience Program in Thailand for 2 weeks in 2023. It was my first time stepping into a truly international environment. Surrounded by people from different cultures, perspectives, and disciplines. I learned about Thai cultures and I realized how big the world really is, and how much I still want to learn from it. Especially in AI and Robotics. So I pursue the bigger dream, I want to continue to Master Degree in United States, Australia, Japan, or Germany, countries with the best AI & Robotics orientation.

Now, I’m trying again, applying for the Australia Awards Scholarship and a few others. While waiting, I’ve been reaching out to international professors about lab assistant opportunities, browsing university scholarships, and working on an AI and IoT portfolio that reflects what I’m passionate about and what I want to build in the future.

These experiences, both the milestones and the failures, have shaped me. They've taught me that studying abroad is not just a destination, but a journey of resilience, preparation, and believing in your purpose.
