Overview
In March 2023, I was honored to serve as an Assistant Guardian Angel (Mentor) for the Teladan Scholars 2023 program, organized by Aethra Learning Center in collaboration with the Tanoto Foundation. This role placed me in a position of trust and responsibility, guiding a group of outstanding scholars as they embarked on their personal and leadership development journeys.
As a mentor, my core responsibility was to provide continuous guidance, emotional support, and practical insights to help my mentees unlock their potential. I worked closely with them through various structured activities, reflection sessions, and one-on-one mentoring moments, encouraging their growth in character, leadership, and self-awareness.

Findings
Serving as an Assistant Guardian Angel was a deeply fulfilling and humbling experience. I discovered how impactful consistent encouragement and authentic presence can be in someone’s developmental process. I saw my mentees gain confidence, embrace challenges, and open up to new perspectives, all through an environment rooted in empathy and growth.
This role also sharpened my communication, mentorship, and active listening skills, as I had to tailor my guidance based on each individual's needs and personality. It reminded me of the importance of leading with compassion and creating safe spaces for others to flourish.
I am grateful to the Tanoto Foundation and Aethra Learning Center for the trust they placed in me, and I carry forward the lessons of servant leadership, empathy, and transformative mentorship into every part of my journey.
